My name is Alyssa (uh-LEE-sha) Humbert and I am running for Olympia City Council Position 2.

I love Olympia and now that I have a young son, I want to do my part to ensure a safe, inclusive, and sustainable Olympia for him and for generations to come.

I love meeting and talking to people. I love my neighborhood and my friends. As I considered running for City Council, I thought about all these people in my life and their children. I decided to run for City Council for the people I know and their families because I want to fight for working families.

With my background in nonprofit management, I am well versed in coming up with creative solutions on a budget. I have worked with and advocated for special needs children, immigrants and refugees, low income populations, women’s rights, mothers and families, and workers. I am ready to take my unique experiences and perspectives and bring them to City Council to come up with fiscally responsible and humane solutions to our city’s issues.
